Let me preface this with the disclaimer that I know f&^%-all about the publishing industry, but is it possible that it’s just Amazon throwing around the weight of its volume discount, and not a prophecy on the book’s success? Seems like it’s pretty unusual for ANY book to not be discounted from list on that site…

Yeah, probably. In fact, I’m pretty sure you’re right. It’s still depressing, though: I’ve pumped months of my life into this book, and now people can buy it for the price of a round of drinks? Damn it, I want people to pay for this! I want them to appreciate their copy of my masterwork, and treat it with care and reverence.

And, y’know, if they fancied establishing a small bedroom shrine to my Greatness, that’d be cool too.
