Why you should never date a geek

XKCD no. 340
Actually, if you and I ever do hook up, you’ll be able to tell when our relationship has moved on to a very special level – it’s the day I give you my root password. Which, by the way, I will never do. What if we split up?
My life at the moment is basically a series of XKCD strips, loosely strung together by sleep and beer.

I’ve figured out why this is. There are two potential scenarios here.
(1) You are not a geek, and don’t even know what a root password is. In that case, you’re not getting my root password, because you could do untold damage with it. In untrained hands, it’s a deadly weapon.
(2) You are a geek, and know exactly what a root password is. In that case, you’re not getting my root password, because you could do untold damage with it. In trained hands, it’s a deadly weapon.
See the problem? No root password for you, I’m afraid.
