Why I hate George W Bush (part 1145 in a series of ... well, lots more)

Bush has just made a speech in which he compared Osama Bin Laden to Hitler.

How dare he?

Here’s a choice quote

“In the 1920s a failed Austrian painter published a book in which he explained his intention to build an Aryan superstate in Germany and take revenge on Europe and eradicate the Jews – The world ignored Hitler’s words and paid a terrible price”

I can list a few reasons why Bin Laden is nothing at all like Hitler without even stopping to think.
  1. Hitler was ruling a country. When the Nazis attacked, Germany attacked.
  2. It’s never been proved that Bin Laden has actually ever done anything.
  3. Much as Bush may wish otherwise, America can’t declare war on a solitary bearded lunatic in a cave. They’ve declared war on the great nation of Terrorism (just south of Bagdad, where all the evil brown people come from).
  4. Hitler started it.
  5. Most of the attrocities of the second world war were committed by the other side.
  6. WWII had a genuine coallition of allied countries. Bush has America and Tony Blair.
In having the nerve to make this comparision – in actually attempting to style himself as a reluctant but determined defender of freedom fighting an evil maniac dictator who threatened the future of everyone on the planet – Bush is pissing on the graves of everyone (on both sides of the conflict) who gave their lives during World War II. Cut to footage of Bush talking to Blair. Dubbed over : I mean, all this stuff in the Middle East. They just have to get their shit together and sort all that shit out.
